Policies and Procedures
Documented policies and procedures are necessary to comply with our way of managing a business. They make a business role dependent rather than person dependent. As a result training and scheduling is much easier.
Policies
Policies are minimal as they usually only define how much you can get away with before you will be dismissed.
Make them few but powerful with mention of ZERO TOLERANCE.
Procedures
Procedures describe the way each task is organised and how it relates to its predecessors and successors. It defines the signaling mechanisms. We use Kaizen and Kanban processes to define the procedures and their flow.
Author’s Note
A business plan is a live document that demands constant updating and attention. It should be updates and reviewed at least each year.
